Think outside the sandbox

Our sad sandbox
We have a sandbox in our backyard that my father-in-law made my children. It was popular for a number of years but has been neglected recently as they have grown out of that stage in our lives. But I wasn't sure what to do with it. It is a sacred space for us and I was afraid to change it. I have also wanted a vegetable garden but was overwhelmed with the thought of digging up part of our yard to create one or build a raised bed. I am not known for a green thumb as much as my mom has tried.

Perfectly Imperfect

My perfectly imperfect feet
I had big plans for today. Even a list (I really like lists) of everything I had to get done to get ready for the weekend. I got thrown a few curveballs and ended up in the office putting out fires and had to put my list on hold. One of the things I had planned was a pedicure.

Holy Week in the Funeral Home

People are often surprised when I tell them I go to church in a funeral home. They bring up memories of uncomfortable receiving lines and wondering if you said the right thing or a beloved relative's funeral. But for me, it feels like the perfect place to be in Holy Week.
